Let me start out by telling you a brief history behind "Shoot'em In the Lips l & ll".  When I filmed this video it was back when we had the point system for our duck limits.  Drake mallards were 50 points & hen mallards were 100 points.  You were only allowed 100 points a day.  So if you shot a hen you were limited out for the day.  That's why knowing how to blow a duck call and knowing how to read the birds was so important.  You had to call the birds in close enough to make sure you knew what species of duck you were going to shoot.  All pintails, redheads were 100 points regardless of sex.  It sure made for a shortday if you shot the wrong bird first.  All other species of ducks were 35 points.  Those days, were the drought years, and the duck population was way down.  I can remember that you had to really love waterfowl hunting to be a duck hunter.  Expecially with all the expense, time, and work that had to be put into it.  For this reason we would take turns shooting to make the day last longer and KEEP HAVING FUN!  (You'll see this on the DVD.)  All my blinds were designed and built to be very comfortable.  On "Shoot'em in the Lips ll", you will see my old boat blind with stove/oven, TV/VCR, oak trim cabinets, generator, and of course heaters.

Now lets move onto the geese.  The limit was 1 per day in Nebraska, 5 geese in Colorado, and 2 geese in Missouri.  There are plenty of kill shots in both videos, but my videos are not just shoot'em up with kill after kill, shot after shot, like a lot of the newer videos out on the market today.  You will see how I, Ron Wieneke, hunted.  We sure did have a lot of fun back then.  So please watch and see "Old School" waterfowling with me.  Sit back and enjoy the show!
